Architectural drawings are intended to convey a 3D structure through a number of 2D views. I will start with elevation, which is defined as a drawing to scale of the external face of a building or structure, of which this cube has four. For the majority of this presentation, I am featuring the 1931 Newcastle Paramount Theatre by Frank Verity as it is the building I am most familiar with and a comparatively simple building. Before we start looking at the elevations a quick look at the site plan is appropriate.
